Busan Aquarium

The Busan Aquarium is located by Haeundae Beach. It is the biggest aquarium in Korea and enables visitors to experience the underwater world at very close quarters. It houses ca. 250 different animal species, showing altogether 35,000 animals.

You can see the animals either in aquariums or in underwater tunnels that extend altogether over 80 meters in length. In the largest aquarium, it is possible to take a boat trip, which includes fish feeding.

Planning for the Busan Aquarium began in 1997. In 2000, they began construction, and completion as well as subsequent opening finally took place in 2001.

The aquarium's English website is:

http://www.busanaquarium.com/eng/f_main.html.

There you can find, among other things, a webcam and various information about Busan aquarium and the underwater world in general. The website is in flash and, considered for itself, a special attraction.

You can reach Busan aquarium either via subway line 2 (stop Haeundae-Beach) or via coach (302,307).
